Boris says re-shuffle is 'mad'.

Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has said the removal of Justine Greening as Transport Secretary is "mad" and can only mean the Government is going to break its promise a build the third runway - "in the middle of west London" - at Heathrow.

Downing Street says Its position is clear and unchanged since the coalition agreement of 2010, which committed ministers to scrapping the 3rd runway plans drawn up under the last Labour government. But the Coalition has launched a consultation process on future airport capacity.

Boris has recently gained public support for being seen as a potential future Tory leader and Prime Minister. He said - "Justine is a first-rate transport secretary".

"It is simply mad to build a new runway in the middle of west London. Nearly a third of the victims of aircraft noise in the whole of Europe live in the vicinity of Heathrow.

"Now it is clear that the Government wants to ditch its promises and send yet more planes over central London. We will fight this all the way."
