Jackson calls for police investigation at Mosque.

Imam Mohammed Kassamali of the Husaini Islamic center in Peterborough at the center of huge controversy after apparently offering an undercover journalist a marriage ceremony for his 12 year old daughter and a man in his 20's.

The Mail on Sunday reported Mr Kassamali told a journalist that - "If it (the marriage) was not possible, I would have told you straight away... I would love the girl to go to her husband’s house as soon as possible, the younger the better.".

Tory MP for Peterborough Stewart Jackson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire last night that there - "Must be substance to the allegations, the Hussani Islamic center must explain themselves" - Jackson then went on to say there must be a thorough investigation as a potential criminal offence may have taken place at the mosque.

Stewart went on - "It is not appropriate to in the name of cultural sensitivities to set aside UK law on something as sensitive as this. We've never had issues of extemism in Peterborough and i hope for that to continue."

The MP for Peterborough also told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire that there is a chance that such ceremionies could be taking place in secret so there was an urgent need for a proper police investigation.
